Could Your Vitamin Regimen Include Something to Prevent Breast Cancer?

without comments

Each and every women is concerned with being able to prevent breast cancer. Breast cancer kills thousands of women each year. There has been millions of dollars spent on research trying to find new ways to treat and cure this cancer. Naturally, the best way of staying safe is to try to take every step possible to prevent breast cancer.

The Journal of the National Cancer Institute published a study in the early 1990's linking the prevention of breast cancer with omega 3 fatty acids. While these results are not conclusive, there have been additional studies since then indicating that there could be a connection. Fish and flax oils both have high concentrates of omega 3 fatty acids. They contain anti-inflammatory compounds and contribute to your hearts overall health. Its anti-inflammatory nature might be what can help prevent breast cancer.

Omega 3s in your diet generally come from fish or flax seeds. Since most people only consume very small amounts of fish or flax seed, they could have a minor omega 3 deficiency. This can really be harmful to some parts of your health. Because it can cause depression or cardiovascular problems. It can also seriously interfere with your immune system and this can make you more sensitive to auto-immune diseases, some types of diabetes and some types of migraines.

The auto-immune issue is where the researchers think that omega 3s can also help with breast cancer prevention. Cancers are caused when the cells get out of control so an anti-inflammatory agent could play a very big role in calming down these cells. If the cell is calmed and does not start dividing uncontrollably, then the cancer could be avoided.

While most people end up taking omega 3 for their overall health, but they also want to do everything possible to prevent any kind of cancer. Memory function and heart health are also helped when taking omega 3s. Its better to be prepared and take omega 3 supplements, while the research is still going on on whether or not it will actually help prevent breast cancer.
