Always prioritize your health. When you feel that something is not right. Maybe a little ache here or a clicking sound where there isn't supposed to be one. When something is amiss or irregular, go to a medical professional. Consult with your doctor. Tell him your worries. More often than not, it could be nothing. But there is always a 5% chance that your doctor will find something.

Sometimes, we only consider minor aches and pains as discomfort to our daily routine than anything else. We do not really take it seriously unless this minor pain becomes excruciatingly painful and you can no longer go about your schedule for the day. A perfect example of this is Tmj Disorder or temporomandibular joint disorder. People who experience pain in the jaw, do not go to the doctor, especially the first two or three months of jaw discomfort. They think that it would go away by itself. They would probably go see someone when the pain and discomfort worsens. Actually, the first problem they usually think about is where do they go. Should they go to a dentist or a doctor? Some doctors may not even consider your jaw pains as TMJ disorder.
They may give you a medicine prescription for pain reliever and that's that. But the thing is the pain is still there and the inconvenience of having TMJ is still persistent. Contrary to what people think, you do not have to suffer a blow to the jaw to get TMJ disorder. So many studies have been done to answer the question, "What Causes Tmj disorder". Actually, TMJ Disorder can be caused by a severe or mild blow to the jawline. It can be caused by persistent grinding of the teeth due to stress. It can be due to athritis and it can be as simple as fingernail biting or gum chewing. As you can see, it can pretty much be caused by anything.
So as soon as you feel that you have limited movement or frequent locking of the jaw, see a doctor or a dentist who specializes in TMJ disorder.
